At least nine people have died in a stampede at a temple in India

Indian authorities have reported that at least nine people have been killed and dozens more injured in a stampede at a temple in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday morning.
Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan said on Saturday that the stampede occurred when people had gathered at a temple in the city of Srikakulam on an auspicious day for Hindus and that the incident occurred due to the stampede.
Officials added that about 25,000 people had gathered at a temple, while the temple only had a capacity of 2,000.
With this, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on his Twitter page that the government would pay $ 2,300 to the families of those who died and $ 570 to those injured.
