Pakistan allows 724 humanitarian aid trucks to enter Afghanistan through Torkham

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Pakistan, Mohammad Yahya, said that Pakistani authorities have allowed 724 humanitarian aid trucks to enter Afghanistan through Torkham.

Yahya said that all these loaded trucks are carrying vital humanitarian aid for the Afghan people and that UN agencies will distribute the aid to needy families in Afghanistan in a transparent manner.

This is the second time in a short period that the Pakistani side has allowed the passage of humanitarian aid convoys into Afghanistan; about a month ago, dozens of similar aid trucks entered Afghan territory through Torkham.

The Afghan government has not yet officially commented on the transfer of this aid.
