A woman has been killed by a whale while surfing off the coast of Sydney, Australia, according to reports.

The incident, which took place on Saturday, August 6, is the second fatal whale attack in Sydney’s coastal history.

Local authorities have not provided further details about the incident.

It should be noted that the first incident was in 1963 when a British teacher was killed by a whale.

Police have warned people to avoid coastal areas until further notice.
