A family member of sick girl Kulsoom, who was transferred from Kandahar to Kabul, has died.

Kulsoom’s family members said that sick girl Kulsoom, who was transferred from Kandahar to Kabul and was in the emergency room, has died.

She was flown from Kandahar to Kabul for treatment last Sunday, and a spokesman for the Ministry of Health called her operation a success, but she died today, a day later.

Foreign body removed from girl’s throat

A small child named Kulsoom, who was brought from Kandahar and was facing the problem of a foreign body (bone) stuck in a part of her respiratory system, has been successfully rescued.
The child, who was airlifted from the province to Kabul on Sunday, April 12, was successfully operated on by the staff of the Sehat e Tefal Hospital.
After visiting the child, Sheikh Mohammad Tahir Halim, the Director General of the Office of the Ministry of Public Health of the Islamic Emirate, thanked all the health workers who participated in the procedure and praised them materially and spiritually.
It is worth noting that two days ago, a child named Kulsoom had a foreign body stuck in her throat and was not treated in Kandahar province.

Increase in malnutrition among mothers and children in Afghanistan

The World Food Program announced yesterday, Sunday, December 21 that cases of malnutrition among women and children have increased throughout Afghanistan.

The organization added that every day, women and children suffering from malnutrition are visiting health centers for treatment.

The World Food Program added on its page X that Afghanistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of acute child malnutrition; currently, about 5 million mothers and children are malnourished and this crisis is spreading.

The organization appreciated the donations of donors and said that this assistance is essential for a healthy future for mothers and children.

The World Food Program added that the organization, in cooperation with its partners, has provided nutrients to thousands of people suffering from malnutrition in Afghanistan.

It is worth noting that the organization previously warned that on the eve of winter, more than 17 million Afghans face severe food insecurity; a crisis that is accompanied by acute malnutrition.

UNICEF: Investment in female health workers is vital

Sanjay Wijesara, UNICEF Regional Director for South Asia, has reported on his visit to Kabul and a center that helps malnourished children.

Wijesara said on Sunday, December 14, after visiting the center, that investment in female health workers in Afghanistan is vital and that female nursing helps malnourished children.

On the other hand, Tajuddin Ayvali, the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Afghanistan, previously said that the country is facing one of the most severe nutrition crises in the world and that 3.5 million children are suffering from acute malnutrition.

According to Ayvali, one million people are also severely underweight and at risk.

It is worth noting that the UN warned in August this year that Afghanistan is facing the most severe wave of child malnutrition.

90 percent of carpet weavers in Afghanistan are women

UN Women said that despite 90 percent of carpet weavers in Afghanistan being women, they earn the lowest incomes.
To strengthen women’s economic opportunities, UN Women said in a report on Wednesday, December 9, that the agency organized a technical workshop this week with partners from the Afghan carpet industry and a number of regional business partners.
They said that women play a key role in the Afghan carpet industry and that the industry is sustained by the work of Afghan women.
“The workshop was held in the Airtam Free Trade Zone of Uzbekistan near Balkh; where 70 percent of Afghanistan’s carpet production is supplied,” the UN said.
Suzanne Ferguson, UN Women’s Special Representative in Afghanistan, said that supporting women at all stages of the production chain, from wool production and spinning to weaving, finishing and trade development, is essential for the sustainable growth of the carpet industry. She stressed that she will continue her efforts to strengthen women’s leadership and increase their participation in the carpet industry.

1- An advisor: A woman is the greatest and best advisor for her husband in every area, even in areas that do not come to the man’s mind.
2- A house builder: If a man buys a house, then the woman then arranges it with love and beautifies it, making it beautiful in both its appearance and spiritual form.
3- A housekeeper: A woman is the one who organizes the house and creates its four corners.
4- Childcare: The greatest responsibility of a woman is child care, which has an impact not only on the family but also on the future of society. Today’s children are the builders of tomorrow’s society.
5- She is the protector of her husband’s honor, wealth, children, and dignity: Without a doubt, this is also the responsibility of a woman from an Islamic perspective. A woman is her husband’s greatest security in his presence and absence.
6- Managing emotional relationships; It causes love and affection between the family.
7- Managing finances: She helps her husband with household expenses and savings.
In general, it can be said that a woman plays a major role in the order and peace of the family. Creating a loving and dignified family is the perfection of a woman, and this perfection can be best achieved when she has the support of her husband.

EU support for health services in Afghanistan

The European Union announced yesterday that it will support the provision of health services in Afghanistan to ensure that Afghan women, girls and mothers have access to basic health services.

The EU wrote on its website that the education and training of women as health professionals is also included in its support programs.

In addition, the EU and UNESCO launched a program worth 4.7 million euros to provide literacy and practical skills training to 7,500 young people and adults in five provinces of Afghanistan.

The EU also added that the program will focus on training skills relevant to local needs, such as tailoring, dairy production, poultry farming and small-scale agriculture.

Japan provides over $5 million to Afghan businesswomen

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has announced that Japan has provided $5.6 million to support Afghan businesswomen.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) said in a statement on Tuesday, November 18, that the Japanese Ambassador to Kabul, Kenichi Masamoto, and the agency’s representative in Afghanistan, Stephen Rodriguez, signed the grant.

The statement also added that the money will be used for 73 micro-projects and 2,100 small and medium-sized businesses.
